You don't have to drink this weekend. By Alyson Premo

I don't know who needs to hear this, but just because it's another heavily marketed drinking holiday doesn't mean you have to drink.

Let's be honest we can use any day to justify our drinking. But I bet many of us used holidays to cover up how much we were really drinking. On holidays it's acceptable to get drunk, act like a hot mess, and stroll into work on Tuesday, barely able to function.

Or is it? When did it become acceptable to get so intoxicated that it's funny?

IT IS NOT FUNNY.

❌ When college students are dying from hazing incidents involving alcohol, it is not funny.

❌ When more young women than ever before are being diagnosed with liver disease, it is not funny.

❌ When children are being taken away from their mothers, it is not funny.

Don't fall for the illusion that just because it's a holiday, you can do whatever you want and fly under the radar with your drinking.

You're an adult, so you can do whatever you want, but little eyes are watching you. And teenagers are looking at you to be the role model they deserve.

U.S. mamas, what are you most looking forward to about not drinking this holiday weekend? Let us know in the comments. 👇🏻

Are you already going back and forth in your head trying to justify" just one drink" this weekend at a BBQ or by the pool?

Nervous about how you're going to get through Summer without alcohol?

For those who join TODAY, 5/27, you're receiving a booze free babe tumbler and tank. That's a $80 value for FREE! It's my gift to you for showing up for yourself and your family this Summer.

Signs you and alcohol need to take a break. By Alyson Premo.

💥 You wake up feeling guilty.

💥 You only intend to have "one" glass of wine but finish the bottle.

💥 You tell yourself you're going to take a break from drinking for 30 days, but then 5 days in, you go back to drinking.

💥 You don't remember putting the kids to bed.

💥 Your day revolves around when you'll be able to have your next drink.

💥 You are self-medicating.

The bottom line is if you're on this page or you are questioning your relationship with alcohol, then you know something is off.

Trust that gentle nudge inside of yourself.

✨ You know, deep down, something needs to change.

✨ You know that living in this alcohol-induced haze is preventing you from experiencing the joys of this one life we have.

✨ You know that you are capable and deserving of so much more than reaching for a glass of wine when times get tough.

✨ You know that your kids deserve a mother who says alcohol is harmful but actually shows them that by not drinking it herself.

Don't keep putting your mental and physical health on the back burner. We only get one mind and body, so treat it with the respect it deserves instead of polluting it with a cancer-causing substance.

Did you just...

say, "oh sh*t, that's me," or

feel a punch to the gut, or

automatically go into defensive mode that she doesn't know what she's talking about. I'm just fine.

That's YOUR SIGN. to join me and 39 other mothers for Confidently Be Booze Free - 60 Day Challenge: Summer Edition!

60 days of content

60 days of audio lessons

60 days of journal prompts

60 days of support

60 days of accountability

4 LIVE group coaching calls

...and all the extra bonuses

There are only 40 spots available to facilitate a deeper connection to others in the group. Connection is a big piece of the puzzle, and a group this size allows you to share and open up to mothers who are at a similar point on their journey.

If you want to drop the guilt and the shame, you have to stop hiding and keeping things a secret.

YOU WILL NOT ditch alcohol by continuing to suppress, using all the justifications in the world that "you aren't that bad", and doing it alone.

Click here to grab your spot!

P.S. This is a ONCE A YEAR challenge, so when the doors are closed, they'll be closed for another year.

I had no idea the life that was possible for me after I quit drinking, and it's possible for you too.

Let's be honest, that first year wasn't pleasant, but either was another trip to detox—hard pass on going back to that hell.

I always say this to my clients to truly give it a chance.

You're not going to feel amazing right off the bat. Kudos if you do, but that's pretty unrealistic. Or maybe you're feeling pretty amazing the first 30 days, and then you start to question. "do I really have to do this for the rest of my life?" which sends you into a spiral of sadness, anxiety, and thoughts of self-destruction.

Don't let that inner gremlin sabotage your progress.

It takes TIME for everything to come back into alignment and time for you to deal with those emotions you've been numbing and suppressing for so long. That's the hard part, right? Nothing to run to when times get tough. Just you and your thoughts to handle in a healthy way.

But the reward of sobriety is so worth it.

Oh, so f*cking worth it!

Keep going!

What has been possible for YOU after you stopped drinking alcohol? Let us know in the comments and give HOPE to those stuck in the drinking cycle. 👇🏻

It takes more energy to try and control your alcohol intake than it does to let go of alcohol for good. By Alyson Premo.

I hear this ALL THE TIME. You know what I'm talking about, right? Those thoughts of moderation, and what if I can just have a glass of wine here or there.

I'm going to give it to you straight. If you were the type who could moderate or only have one drink here and there, then you wouldn't have questioned your drinking in the first place. Putting restrictions like, "I'm only going to drink on the weekends, or I'm only going to have one glass of wine one night a week," is just messing with your mind.

YOU'RE LETTING ALCOHOL CONTROL YOUR LIFE.

Wouldn't it be much easier to draw that line in the sand and say I'm done and let go of trying to "control" your alcohol intake?

Don't spend all that energy trying to keep something in your life that you know doesn't add any value to you.

❌ Are you ready to start letting go of those pesky moderation thoughts?

❌ Are you ready to get to a place where you DON'T want to drink, not that you CAN'T drink?

❌ Are you ready to be perfectly content sitting with a nonalcoholic beverage on a warm Spring day?

I bet you're ready, but you've tried doing this on your own before, and it hasn't worked, huh? So you've given up before you've even started. Don't give up, love. There's a better way to live life, but we can't do this journey alone, and that's why I'm here!

I'm here to hold you accountable, be your sounding board, and help you get to those "aha" moments that lead to your breakthroughs where alcohol becomes irrelevant in your life.

I have TWO SPOTS open for May for the 90 Day 1:1 Coaching Program. If you're ready to ditch the excuses and the booze and make a commitment, then this program is for you.

Apply by clicking here!

Looking to book a single 1:1 session without the time and financial commitment of a longer program? Message me, and I'll send you a link to my calendar! Only ONE spot is open for a single session for April.

Things I DO NOT miss from my drinking days around the holidays. By Alyson Premo.

Things I DO NOT miss from my drinking days around the holidays.

-stocking up on alcohol to make sure I didn't run out.

-sneaking and hiding how much I was really drinking.

-half-a**ing holiday traditions

With today being Good Friday and Sunday being Easter, I was passing the liquor store yesterday, and I was like "man, how great does it feel to not have to worry about buying all the alcohol to make sure I don't run out, and then looking at the cashier like this isn't just for me - it's the holiday!"

HOW EXHAUSTING!!!!

Seriously how exhausting to keep up this front that there was nothing wrong with me. I was living in DENIAL and living in actual hell.

At 5 years and 5 months sober TODAY, I still have gratitude EVERY SINGLE DAY for the life I'm living. From how I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and said enough is enough for my son and me, and now I get to live my purpose while making an income.

Does this post resonate with you? Are you stocking up on for this weekend and half-a**ing holiday traditions with your kids because you're more worried about alcohol and making sure you don't look drunk?

1:1 Coaching may just be what you need to hold yourself accountable, work through the actual issues at hand, and shift how you think about alcohol. Apply for the 90 Day 1:1 Coaching Program by clicking here so that you can finally start living instead of just surviving.

AND we had our first Q&A Call for Sober Mom Coaching Academy™ yesterday. I'm just so excited to see where that goes in the months and years to come. My vision is clear, and it WILL come to fruition. Stay tuned for the opportunity to get on the waitlist for September and receive a $555 discount and extra bonuses.

I couldn't imagine living my life WITHOUT alcohol, but now I can't imagine living my life WITH alcohol.  By Alyson Premo.

This mindset shift didn't happen overnight, and I, too, couldn't imagine living my life without alcohol. The forever word was too daunting.

How am I going to make it through the holidays without alcohol?

How am I going to relax after a stressful day?

How am I going to feel all my emotions and live to tell about it?

But here I am, over 5 years sober, and I have no desire whatsoever to have a drink. I've worked way too hard to give in to a substance that destroyed me. It took me years to build myself back up, and I'll be damned if I'll let a poison take away my happiness, time, and money again.

NOT NOW. NOT EVER.

Too many of you are giving in before this happens.

Too many of you are giving in for that temporary quick fix only to feel anxious, sad, and like a failure a few hours later.

Is that temporary relief worth it?

At the moment, you think it is, but surf that urge so you can be proud of yourself and get the confidence and consistency needed to break out of this pattern. To give yourself a chance to see the rewards.

All it is is taking it one day at a time. I know it's super cliche, but it really can be that simple. I and millions of others wouldn't be sharing how an alcohol-free life is worth it if it wasn't. Yes, it was hard in the beginning, but it gets easier. Keep going until it clicks because it will if you allow it to.

If you can't take a break from alcohol for 30 days, then... By Alyson Premo

If you can't take a break from alcohol for 30 days, then you're more reliant on alcohol than you think.

So many of us (myself included back in the day) didn't think we had a problem with alcohol. Thoughts of...

"I enjoy a glass of wine here or there, but I can go without it."

"Yes, I may drink a little more on the weekends, but I'm winding down from a stressful week. No big deal."

"Having a whole bottle of wine in one night is totally fine and normal."

"I got too drunk because I "forgot" to eat."

The list could go on and on with the excuses we give ourselves that we don't have a problem, but I think a good gauge is trying to take a break for 30 days. Of course, you're not going to break a habit and reap all the rewards of being alcohol-free in just 30 days, but this is a great starting point to assess your relationship with alcohol.

"Maybe you're thinking this is a piece of cake. Of course, I can go without alcohol for 30 days. I'm not dependent on it." Then the weekend rolls around, and you're pacing around, irritable, and all you want is a glass of wine to unwind. There's your clue that you were becoming more reliant on alcohol than you thought.

Also, if you're self-medicating because you're sad or anxious and your first thought is, "I need a drink," then that's another red flag that your relationship with alcohol isn't healthy. The good news is you're aware now and taking steps to change it.

If you're finding it more difficult than you thought it would be to ditch alcohol, then join the Ditch The Drink - 31 Day Alcohol Free Challenge for March. Learn tools and strategies and receive support so that you're not looking at this "break" as a punishment but as a gift!

Doors close 3/1 at 11:59 pm EST. Wouldn't it be nice to go into the warmer months having the most challenging days of this journey under your belt so you can ENJOY it without being hungover, irritable, and in the "this sucks" mindset? The sooner you start, the less regret you'll have!

The 20 question "Am I An Alcoholic?" survey is a waste of time. By Alyson Premo.

The 20 question "Am I An Alcoholic?" survey is a waste of time. If you're questioning your drinking to where you want to take a survey, then it's already enough of a problem to stop.

How many of you have googled, "am I an alcoholic" after another drinking disaster?

I hear it all the time.

And what I want you to know is that if you're questioning your relationship to alcohol to where you have to take a survey, then that's the only validation you need to know that alcohol is negatively impacting your life. Also, you don't have to label yourself as an alcoholic to stop drinking.

People who don't have a drinking problem aren't googling if they have a drinking problem, right?

If you're going to take a survey, then obviously, there have been MANY incidents where you feel that alcohol has negatively impacted your life or you have had consequences as a result of drinking too much. As a culture, we see binge drinking or the mishaps of our drinking as funny sometimes, but it's not funny at all.

❌ Drinking so much that you're blacking out and not remembering how you put the kids to bed is not funny.

❌ Drinking so much that you wake up hungover is not funny.

❌ Drinking so much that you're in a constant haze is not funny.

It's not funny. It's sad that, as a culture, we've made a mockery and accepted drunk nights as a passage to adulthood and part of everyday life. It is not normal to be drinking that much alcohol. You are destroying your mind, body, and soul when you consume that much. There is no benefit.

Trust that gentle nudge that tells you that your drinking has gotten out of control and that the negative consequences you're seeing are all the reason you need to remove alcohol from your life. You don't have to put a label on it. You don't have to be an alcoholic to stop drinking.

All you need is a desire to want something more of your life than hangovers, regret, anxiety, disappointment, and an inner knowing that this isn't the way life is supposed to be. Trust that nudge that something isn't right.

I (@alysonpremo) have ONE spot left for my 90 Day 1:1 Coaching Program for March. This program is for you if you're committed, ready, and willing to do the work. There are no quick fixes, so if that sounds like something you'd be interested in, apply by clicking here.

You don't need a rock bottom to quit drinking, but you do need a wake-up call. By Alyson Premo.

You don't need a rock bottom to quit drinking, but you do need a wake-up call.

You don't have to hit rock bottom to change your relationship with alcohol. That's an old belief that people need to lose everything before they finally quit for good and realize that they have a problem.

That notion will have you stuck in this cycle longer than need be and, in the long run, worse off. We all have different journeys and wake-up calls.

My wake-up call was the day I walked into detox, but for 3 years, I let myself get to that point. Going back and forth with a few weeks or a month of sobriety and then back to drinking. And the cycle repeated, and each time it led me down a darker path quicker than it did the previous time.

My wake-up call was detox, and I'd recommend stopping before using that as yours. 😉

These are still wake-up calls too.

🚩 Not remembering how you got to bed the night before.

🚩 Driving under the influence.

🚩 Sending text messages that you regret the next day.

🚩 Being controlled by your 5 pm on the dot glass of wine.

🚩 Having your kids tell you your favorite drink is wine.

🚩 Feeling physically ill from being hungover.

🚩 Crippling anxiety the day after drinking.

🚩 A gentle nudge that something just isn't right with your drinking.

If you're questioning your relationship with alcohol, then that's all you need to want to change. Don't let yourself get to a place that's harder to dig out of if you don't have to.

I understand that many of us will justify that we're not that bad because we're not drinking morning until night, but I hope you know that my drinking morning to night didn't happen overnight either. It happened over years. Years that I kept ignoring the signs. Ignoring how I felt—ignoring everything but the one thing that gave me comfort until I physically needed it to survive.

Whatever your wake-up call is, you're going to need tools and support to help you stay consistent and confident on this journey. One way to do that is by 1:1 Coaching. I only have ONE spot open for March, so if this post hit you in the feels. Message me (@alysonpremo) or click here to apply for the 90 Day 1:1 Program.

Your kids are lucky to have a mom who is working on herself. By Alyson Premo.

Your kids are lucky to have a mom who is working on herself because she knows she can do better when it comes to her relationship with alcohol.
